The power of social media content

“There is a saying among social media professionals that “Content is King.” Simply stated, posting valuable content is often what separates social media success from failure.”

Social media is so powerful in today’s society that writing impactful content is necessary. The social media platforms such as Facebook, twitter, dig.com and more only use a few sentences to get the message out. Therefore, those few sentences better be meaningful. I feel in school we used to learn how to write extravagant stories, which detailed and explained everything we wanted to say and now social media has forced us into writing short and powerful words. These words define whether someone finds you credible, trustworthy and worth their investment.

When using the knowledge of social media it is also really important to understand the importance of knowledge and engagement. Take the knowledge you know as a professional and target that into the company, organization etc. you are working on. Help them be informative but resourceful. This can be done through engagement with your audience. This is probably I feel one of the most important factors of social media; the feedback. Responding to what the audience wants and how you want to portray your company will help decided the fail or success level of social media. It’s about who or what you are representing and therefore, you need to know how the people feel about it in return.

Being an active member of the social media world is extremely important; it’s where much of our knowledge now comes from. I know I need to become more engaged myself. Being personally involved in the company’s social media will make you stand out more than the competition companies. It humanizes your organization, and most people want something they can relate too. Bring fun, and creativeness into the social media while keeping a professional standpoint.
